I am a Registered Psychologist, with a focus in managing mood disorders, anxiety and trauma. I use a client centered approach to assist others in managing the effects of anxiety and other mental health concerns in the brain and body.

I have nearly 20 years’ experience working in a wide range of environments and mental health issues, from organisational psychology, public mental health, forensic, drug and alcohol and private practice.

I am also a trained yoga teacher which has also created an understanding of the mind-body connection in relation to trauma, stress, anxiety and depression and my approach to therapy is a wholistic one.

My journey thru life and work

I studied an Undergraduate degree majoring in Business and Psychology and started my career in the Recruitment industry and HR and thought that I wanted to work in Organisational Psychology. I worked as a careers counsellor and in the workcover industry and thru this, I found what I really loved was listening to other people’s life stories and the counselling aspect of my work. This led me to continue further Postgrad study in Psychology and a Masters in Counselling. I completed my registration as a Psychologist while working as a state manager for a counselling program in a National Company. I had a thirst for knowledge and wanted to learn more about complex psychological issues, which led me to work for a number of years in the forensic psychology area (working in men’s maximum security prisons in both NSW and Vic). I worked with a range of issues such as trauma, anger management/ emotional regulation and drug and alcohol. I then branched out into private practice.

I have a focus in trauma and have been trained in EMDR and IFS informed EMDR, which are trauma processing techniques and have allowed me to further understanding of helping others with trauma backgrounds.
